Australian Made Organic Skincare

Crafted by a chemist and an entrepreneur with a vision, Organic Spa Skincare was established in Byron Bay in 2007.

The story however began long before then with the founder devoting 30 years to researching and formulating skincare using natural and organic ingredients.

Armed with a wealth of knowledge and inspired by the pristine surrounds of the Northern Rivers, in 2005 they recognised the opportunity to formulate a premium skincare range that was both organic and results driven.   This would become a range uniquely Certified Organic, safe and sustainable while focused on efficacy and luxury.

Many skincare ranges out on the market have many hidden dangers lurking in their beauty products with many companies having little regard for (or even knowledge of) the long-term effects of these ingredients. Hazardous skincare cocktails are sold as quick fixes to a clear skin or a new-found youthful radiance. The more premium or professional the range the more toxic the formulas appeared to be. The beauty industry turned a blind eye and had done for many years. It was time to provide a better alternative. A professional skincare range that will repair, balance and nourish your complexion without unnecessary and damaging ingredients.

So with all of that in mind and committed to demystifying the misconception that natural products could not be luxurious or effective, Organic Spa was born.

Organic Certified by ACO (Australian Certified Organic), COSMOS (Cosmetic Organic Standard) and Vegan assessed by the UK Vegan Society, the organicspa range is made using the finest quality Certified Organic ingredients, thoughtfully blended with natural actives to deliver optimum results, just as nature intended.

And this week or while stocks last we are honoring Australian Made with the beautiful Organic Spa Minis for only $10 each.

Included in our range of minis are:

Organic Spa Day Moisture 30gm

A nourishing travel-sized cream to make sure your skin is cared for when you’re on the go. Your skin will quickly absorb this daily moisturiser made with a harmonious blend of actives that help prevent moisture loss.

Organic Spa Moisture Rich 30gm

Return lost moisture with this travel-sized hydrating cream. Created to replenish dry skin and rejuvenate dry complexions.

Winter Is Coming – Time to Butter Up

With Winter not too far away, the days are getting cooler, there’s less moisture in the air and the showers get hotter.

The colder temperatures can result in dry, itchy or irritated skin so we need to ensure that we keep hydrated inside and out.

Its time to upgrade from Lotion to Butter

As you know body lotion and body butter are skin care products that moisturize our skin. The main difference between them is that body butter is more suited for people with extremely dry skin as it is a much more intense moisturizer.

Body butter is made using essential butters such as macadamia, mango or cocoa, as well as carrier oils such as coconut or dilo.  Body butter is also a lot thicker and  more viscous than body lotion and you’ll find that it lasts a lot longer than body lotion, giving your body all day hydration.

You’ll find most Body Lotions are made from carrier oils such as coconut, almond, dilo as well as water or aloe vera.

At Summer Elisabeth Day Spa we pride ourselves on having an immense selection of beautiful Body Butters and Lotions from the Pure Fiji Range. Their thick and creamy butters will keep you moisturised and hydrated all day, and you’ll be smelling like you’ve just returned from a tropical island holiday. With 13 different infusions you’re sure to find a favorite.

For those that prefer an unscented Body Butter or Lotion, we have the Organic Spa Body Butter and Lotion.

Quick Tip #1 Dont just rely on body butter or lotion to keep you hydrated, water intake in Winter is just as important as it is in Summer.

BODY BUTTER PRO’S

  • Creates a skin-barrier and protects the skin
  • Prevents moisture loss from the skin
  • Nourishes dry skin
  • Provides support from harsh weather conditions (wind, cold)
  • Promotes soft and smooth skin

Eco Essential Oils

With Winter coming our days get much cooler and shorter which tends to make us want to stay indoors more and more.

Unfortunately, the colder weather can mean seasonal depression and mood fluctuations. There is even an actual term called Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Symptoms can usually start out mild and get worse as the season progresses.  And then when the season changes, people normally become completely well again.

Symptoms of SAD in winter include:

  • lack of energy
  • sleeping too much
  • finding it hard to wake up in the morning
  • feeling very tired all the time
  • overeating and craving carbohydrates
  • gaining weight
  • losing interest in normal activities

So for many it can be difficult to focus on work, home and extra curricular activities when we’re feeling not quite like ourselves. The lower temperatures and chilly winter winds can also wreak havoc on our skin, causing dryness and irritation as well as amplifying aches and pains in our muscles and joints.

One way to combat some of these seasonal issues is by using pure essential oils.  While all essential oils do have their own unique therapeutic properties, some have properties that are especially beneficial during the winter season, some of which may just  help to ease your body aches, colds and congestion, as well as help lift your mood.
